Crafted by Karenni refugees living in Thailand
This little bird is made from handwoven textiles by Karenni women. The women spin threads, dye them, and weaving them into fine fabrics using traditional backstrap looms.

About the craftsmanship
Karenni people are known for their rich cultural traditions, including their distinctive weaving techniques and textiles. Karenni women, in particular, play a central role in the weaving process and often learn these skills from a young age, passing them down through generations.
